Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a therapeutic technique that has gained popularity in recent years for its effectiveness in treating a wide range of psychological issues.

IEMT works by addressing the underlying patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour that contribute to emotional distress. IEMT is based on the premise that our past experiences, particularly those that are traumatic, can create patterns of thinking and behaviour that persist into adulthood and contribute to emotional distress. These patterns can be difficult to change through traditional talk therapy alone, as they are often deeply ingrained in our subconscious.

IEMT works by using eye movements to stimulate the brain and create new neural connections that allow for the processing and release of negative emotions and beliefs. The eye movements used in IEMT are similar to those used in Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, which is the stage of sleep associated with processing and integrating memories. During an IEMT session, I will guide you through a series of eye movements while you focus on a particular issue or memory. The eye movements are used to stimulate the brain and create new connections between different areas of the brain. This allows you the ideal conditions to process and integrate the memory in a new way, leading to a reduction in emotional distress.

IEMT has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobias, and addiction. It is also useful for addressing negative self-beliefs and patterns of behaviour that contribute to emotional distress. One of the unique aspects of IEMT is its focus on the role of eye movements in emotional processing. While the exact mechanism of action of IEMT is not yet fully understood, research suggests that the eye movements used in IEMT may help to integrate emotional experiences and create new neural connections in the brain.

IEMT is a brilliant technique for addressing a wide range of psychological issues. By using eye movements to stimulate the brain and create new connections, IEMT can help clients process and release negative emotions and beliefs and Its a great alternative or addition to a hypnotherapy session.
